About

The Energy Savings and Environment blog is dedicated to people, businesses, municipalities and organizations that are adopting energy efficiency innovations. It’s also dedicated to friends and future friends who enjoy spending time in nature and want to preserve our beautiful environment here in Massachusetts and New England.

I’m active on the Energy Task Force in my town of Bedford, Mass., which is striving to achieve Mass. Green Communities status. This designation will enable the town facilities and operation to continue to reduce our energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions and access state funding to assist our Co2 reduction initiatives.

I’m also active on the Bedford Conservation Commission which protects the wetlands, town forests, public lands in the town. Protecting wetlands helps to reduce flooding in the town (on residential, commercial and public properties) and also helps revitalize and cleanse the groundwater supply that is so vital to our environment.

Protecting the town forests and public lands and lakes involves managing these habitats to encourage native plants which are essential food and homes for our wildlife.
